Best PCI compliance software in 2026

The term covers two categories that are not substitutes. Buying the wrong one is the expensive mistake, so here are both lists with the distinction made explicit.
TL;DR
Best PCI compliance software
TWO CATEGORIES, ONE LABEL
Full-scope platforms track evidence across all twelve requirement families. Client-side tools are the technical control for 6.4.3 and 11.6.1.
THEY ARE NOT SUBSTITUTES
A GRC platform gives you somewhere to record that a client-side control exists. It cannot see the scripts in your customer's browser.
MOST TEAMS PAST A CERTAIN SIZE NEED BOTH
And they complement each other cleanly.
Short on time? If you have an open finding specifically on 6.4.3 or 11.6.1, skip to the client-side tools.

What is the best PCI compliance software?

It depends which of two categories you need: a full-scope compliance platform that tracks evidence across all twelve PCI requirement families, or a client-side tool that implements the specific technical controls required on payment pages by requirements 6.4.3 and 11.6.1. The two are routinely confused because they share a search term, and they solve different problems. A GRC platform is a system of record: it organises policies, collects evidence and coordinates the audit. A client-side tool produces one specific technical control and its evidence. Neither replaces the other, and a vendor claiming one covers the whole standard is overselling.
Requirement 6.4.3 is an authorisation record: every script on the payment page, where it came from, and why it is allowed to be there.

The distinction, stated plainly

Full-scope compliance platforms
Client-side tools
What they do
Track evidence, manage policies, run questionnaires, coordinate audits
Inventory and monitor scripts on payment pages, detect page and header changes
Requirements covered
All twelve families, at the level of workflow and evidence
6.4.3 and 11.6.1, at the level of the actual technical control
Typical buyer
Compliance lead, GRC team
Security engineer, ecommerce or platform team
What they cannot do
Produce the client-side control itself
Anything about the other ten requirement families

Full-scope compliance platforms

We do not sell one of these and we are not going to rank them, because we would be guessing. What we can usefully offer is the criteria that actually differentiate them, which are less obvious than the feature lists suggest.
1
Does it cover PCI specifically, or generically?
Many GRC platforms lead with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 and treat PCI as an additional framework. Depth varies considerably.
2
How much evidence collection is automated?
The difference between a platform that pulls evidence from your systems and one that stores screenshots you upload is most of the value.
3
Does it handle your SAQ type?
SAQ A and SAQ D are very different documents. Check yours is supported rather than assuming.
4
Does it integrate with your QSA's process?
If your assessor has a preferred format, a platform that fights it adds work rather than removing it.
5
What does it do about 6.4.3 and 11.6.1?
Almost certainly: gives you a field to attach evidence produced by something else. That is the correct answer, and worth confirming.
If your open finding is 6.4.3 or 11.6.1, that is the category this sits in.

Disclosure

We publish this list and we sell one of the products on it. We have put ourselves first, and the reason we give is checkable rather than a matter of taste: we publish our pricing and offer a free plan, which most of this category does not. Every other tool gets a genuine "best for" and a real limitation, and several of them are the right answer for constraints we do not serve well. If you only read one section, read the one for the product closest to your situation rather than the one at the top.

How they work together

The clean division: the GRC platform is the system of record for the programme, and the client-side tool is the control for two of its requirements. The evidence pack the second produces gets attached in the first.
If you are being told one product does both, ask specifically how it inventories the scripts executing in a customer's browser and how it detects an HTTP header change on a payment page. Those are concrete questions with concrete answers.
Sources and methodology
PCI DSS requirement text is quoted from PCI DSS v4.0.1 (June 2024), published by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is the current version at the time of writing. Requirements 6.4.3 and 11.6.1 became mandatory on 31 March 2025. Where we describe a competitor, we describe publicly available information and say so when something should be verified with the vendor. We publish this product and that is a bias worth knowing about while you read.

Frequently asked questions

With a caveat: it depends which category you need. For tracking evidence across all twelve requirement families you want a full-scope GRC platform. For the technical control on payment pages required by 6.4.3 and 11.6.1 you want a client-side tool. Most organisations past a certain size use both.
No. A GRC platform organises evidence across the standard without producing the technical controls. A client-side tool produces one control and has nothing to say about the other ten families.
Yes, if 6.4.3 and 11.6.1 apply to you. A GRC platform gives you a field to attach evidence to; something still has to produce that evidence.
Very few in the client-side category: ours and Report URI. GRC platforms more often publish at least a starting price.
Partly, and it depends on your SAQ. A small SAQ A merchant may need very little tooling. Once you are on SAQ A-EP or SAQ D, the client-side requirements apply in full and a spreadsheet stops being sufficient because it cannot detect change.
Four questions that separate products quickly: does it observe real sessions or scheduled scans, can it block or only report, does it keep 6.4.3 and 11.6.1 as separate records, and what is metered. Then ask to see an actual evidence pack rather than a dashboard.
Sometimes, and it is worth asking early. Assessors see many implementations and often have clear views on what produces acceptable evidence. That conversation is cheaper before you buy than after.
It is usually one of the smaller line items. Ours is published at $99/month for 100,000 payment-page views. Most competitors are quote-based, so build a sales cycle into your timeline.
Yes, typically by attaching the evidence pack as documentation against the relevant requirement. Nothing deeper is usually needed, because the artefact is a PDF for a period.
Partly. Free tiers exist, including ours at 1,000 page views a month, and they are genuinely useful for evaluation and for very small stores. A full GRC platform at zero cost is not something we have seen work.
